Abstract

Rubber Industry plays an important role into the Jambi Province economic development. Indonesian Statistical Bureau informed that the value of industrialized rubber exported from Jambi was US $ 617.936.563 approximately 55,48 % out of total value of Non-Oil Commodity exported in year 2012. Unfortunately, that great contribution has not been significantly transmitted to farmer level. This research aimed to formulate a natural rubber downstream cluster industry model in Jambi Province. Descriptive statistical analysis result leads to develop the downstream natural rubber industry cluster model based on the Diamond Cluster Model of Porter (1998). The constructed model consist of six interlinked components namely: input, local government, competitive strategy, demand, supporting industry, and market opportunities. In order to keep natural rubber downs stream industry to running well, it needs a sustainaated link among the components.
